General

  • Today we wear green to promote awareness of social isolation and to show your commitment to creating an inclusive community. The Advisory class with the most students wearing Green will win a donut party! Thank you for your participation in Start with Hello Week!

  • Today's Hispanic Heritage person is author Isabel Allende, who spent her childhood in South American, Europe and the Middle East. As a teenager, she returned to Chile, but fled in 1975 after a military coup. Allende published her most acclaimed novel, House of the Spirits, in 1985.

  • We want to invite our new and transfer students to a special lunch (pizza provided!) to welcome them to the AHS community! The lunch will take place in room M1 today.. Conversation, games, and more! Ask Ms. Edber or Ms. Hudson for more details--otherwise, come on by

  • Student-athletes! Your team can earn money and you can have fun Sunday volunteering at the Albany Triathlon. Come check in at the Athletic Office today for details. Go Cougars!

  • Come to the FINAL informational meeting for the 3 country trip to Europe in Feb. 2020. Come to Room 215 Monday, Sept 30 at lunch to learn more. Deadline is fast approaching.

College and Career

  • AP Exam registration ends this weekend. Be sure that you have signed-up for your exams at totalregistration.net AND linked to your exam at collegeboard.org. Fee waiver documents are due by 9/30. Payments for exams are due by 10/1. Incomplete requests will be denied and unpaid exams will be dropped.

  • Attention college-bound Seniors! Next month, we'll be hosting a financial aid workshop to help you complete the FAFSA or CADAA. Attendees will be eligible for a $1000 scholarship from CSAC. In order to attend, you must sign-up at bit.ly/C4C2020. Space is limited, so sign-up today!

  • In next week's college visit line-up we'll have: CSU East Bay, Dartmouth College, Grand Canyon University, Savannah College, Scripps College, Evergreen State, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, University of Oregon, Wesleyan University. See session info on the AHS website. Register via Naviance.

  • Scripps College will be on campus Monday morning in the Counseling Department Conference Room from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM. View details on the AHS website in the General Events calendar. Then register through Naviance. Space is limited so sign up soon!

  • Want to journey outside your world? Spend a year of high school studying abroad! For details, attend the School Year Abroad info session at 2:45pm on Monday in the Main Office Conference Room. See your counselor to get signed up.

  • PSAT registration ends today. Sign up online at MySchoolBucks.com or by check at the book room. Cost is $30. Fee waivers are available. PSAT test date is Saturday, October 19th, 8:00 am at Albany High. Study guides available in the book room.

Clubs and Teams
