General

  • Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Start with Hello! Week. You should feel proud of the ways you took up challenges to help Albany High be a friendlier place. While the week is over, you can still say hi, meet new people and give compliments all year long!

  • Congratulations our in order to the winning Ms. Valdez-Soto’s Advisory class who had 75% of the students wearing Green last Friday to show their commitment to reach out and say hi to their peers. Ms. Young’s class came in second place with 73% of students participating. We hope you enjoyed your donuts!

  • The winners of the Human Bingo Game were Yara Eliyan, Nesvy Viverson, Sophia Acker, Violet Marshall, Mindi Cheung, Richard Ro, Lucas, Livi Arvonegora, Emily Lu, Genelise Hazen, Wendy Chen, Owen Ray, Suzanne Nalle, Georgia Thomsen, Jungah Ahn, Pia Reneses, Julia Boas, and Salome Monnet, and the winning staff member was Profe Lim-McCallister. If any of you did not get your gift card last Friday, please see Ms. Hudson in room 203. Congrats on your BINGO!

  • Photo Retakes we will held on 10/2 in the library starting at 9am. Students can see Ms. Landry in the attendance office for a pass to have their photos taken.

  • GRADUATION ADVISORY- Wednesday, October 3- All Seniors check in to their advisory class then come to the gym for information about graduation caps and gowns.

  • The PTSA will be hosting an Albany Board Of Education Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 3rd from 7:00-9:00pm at AHS Little Theater.

College and Career

  • PSAT ADVISORY- Friday, October 5 - All Sophomores and Juniors who are taking the PSAT exam (Saturday, 10/13/18) should check in to their advisory class then come to the Little Theater. We will be doing pre-administration (also called "bubble-ing") on your PSAT answer sheets. Bring a #2 pencil and your school ID to this session.

  • In today's college visit line-up we have: University of Illinois and New York Film Academy. Tomorrow: Drexel and UC Santa Barbara will be on campus. For details go to the AHS online calendar. Sign-up to attend the info session(s) in Naviance.

  • Hey Cougars! Once again it's on... We have joined the National Graduate for Mas Challenge. For more information, and to help us best the rest of the schools in the nation, visit getschooled.com to sign-up today! You'll get tips, tools, and texts about everything from navigating high school to acing interviews. Need assistance completing the FAFSA/CADAA? They've got you covered! Need SAT and ACT test prep help? They have that, too! Complete challenges, collect badges and earn points for yourself and AHS. Bring proof of your first completed badge to Ms. Parrott in the Counseling Office for your first reward.

  • Hey Seniors! Were you or are you too busy to attend the college rep info session for your preferred institution? There's still a chance that you may be able to chat with a rep before school, on lunch or during your free period. Tomorrow, we will be hosting a virtual college fair. In order to attend, all you have to do is e-mail Ms. Parrott the name of a school who's rep you want to speak with and she will invite them to participate.

Clubs and Teams

  • Anyone interested in coming out for Boy's Soccer come to Rm. 313 after school on Monday Oct. 1st to meet the coach and get information on the season.

  • Come to the Science Olympiad meeting after school today in Room 303!
