General

• Celebrate Banned Books Week by coming by the AHS library to check out our huge display of banned books, and find one to check out! Come by to participate in the "Break the Tape" campaign to raise awareness of book bans happening across the country.

• Looking for free PSAT prep or service hour opportunities? SAT Club offers free PSAT/SAT tutoring from 1550+ scorers, and strong scorers can partner with us to earn certified hours on their own time by tutoring peers! Join our meetings on Mondays at lunch in Room 314 to learn more.

• Students registered for PSAT: You must attend a required Tech Check this week during advisory. Report directly to the gym at the beginning of advisory with your testing device. You will not be cleared for testing if you do not complete Tech Check. For more info, refer to the email from Ms.Lau-Seim.

• To honor Indigenous Peoples' Day, there will be a screening of the short film "Beyond Recognition," which will take place in the library at lunch this Wednesday. Bring your lunch, or come early to grab a slice of pizza while supplies last.

Clubs

• Come join Pinoy Pride Club at the Albany Library for Parol Making and Halo-Halo! This event will take place today, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 6:15 to 7:45 pm. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there for some Filipino crafts and dessert!"

• UNICEF Club is organizing a book drive to collect gently used or new books to donate towards a non-profit called "Books for Africa". Please drop off your books at the library in the box labeled "UNICEF: Books for Africa". Look out for our flyers around school!

• The AHS Model UN Club will meet Wednesday, October 8, at lunch in Room C-202.

• Do you love exploring nature and hanging out with your friends? Then the Mountain Bike Team might be for you! We’re holding an info meeting on Tuesday, October 7th. 7-8 in the Albany Library. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a seasoned rider or just curious about the team.

College

• College rep visits:  Binghamton University, Wed 10/8 @ lunch; Willamette University Fri 10/10 @ lunch. Sign up at https://tinyurl.com/5ycp85c2 or QR code in Counseling Office.

Sports

• Girls Softball Team!  We will be holding a team meeting on Wednesday after school in Room 214.  Come hungry and get the latest news on Cougar softball.
