General


  • "Between the World and Me" books are due October 1st. Turn into the book room asap.


  • Yearbook staff will start taking club photos this week and all through October. If you're part of a club, check with your club president about when you're scheduled photo is. Club presidents, if you haven't signed up for a timeslot yet, check your email inboxes for an email from yearbook staff!


  • Progress Pride Flag Chalking Party–Come celebrate and honor National Coming Out Day (10/11) and International Pronouns Day (10/15) with Albany's Pride! Students, staff, families, and community members are invited to draw a bigger than life-sized Progress Pride Flag out front of Albany High School. Come prepared for a colorful experience with washable chalk, and stay to enjoy snacks and refreshments and make connections with friends and allies. We hope to see you there! College

  • College rep visits: Smith College - Wed. 10/1 @ advisory (10:30 start) in the Counseling Office; University of Oregon - Fri. 10/3 @ lunch, room TBD. Sign up at https://tinyurl.com/5ycp85c2 or QR code in Counseling Office. Please plan ahead - passes will not be written if you register same day.


Clubs

  • Leo’s Club meets every Tuesday during lunch in room 209. Come join us for long-term volunteering opportunities and to help our community!


  • The AHS Model UN Club will meet Wednesday, October 1 at lunch in Room C-202.


Sports

  • Huge Props to the Cougar Cross Country squad for sweeping every race at Saturday's Be the Goat Invitational in Pinole. Albany won the Varsity and JV races for both boys and girls and set a new girls individual course record. Well done Cougs!


  • Girls Golf, early release at 2:10 pm


  • Girls Water Polo, early release at 2:15 pm


  • Girls Tennis, early release at 2:15 pm 


  • Thursday, October 2: Girls Tennis vs Jesse Bethel @ 3:30 PM


  • Saturday, October 4: Girls Volleyball Cougar Challenge Tournament @ 8 AM
