Opening Day and 9th grade Orientation - August 9th
Our Opening Day will be held on Wednesday, August 9th in the AHS gym. This day is an opportunity for students to collect their schedules, make necessary purchases for the school year, and for parents to join our parent and community groups. For Frosh, Opening Day includes an orientation for students and families. In order to receive class schedules on Opening Day students must have no unpaid fines from previous school years, and parents must complete the annual data verification and authorizations in the Aeries Parent Portal. (Data verification will be available in August.) If you are not able to access the parent portal, IT help will be available at Opening Day.

Parents are not required to attend Opening Day or Orientation. If students are not able to attend, they will be able to pick up their class schedules from 8:30a to 9:15a in the Atrium at AHS on the first day of school.
Our PE clothing partner, local business Mary & Joe's Sporting Goods will not be selling on site. You can purchase gear at their store located at 911 Solano Avenue Wednesdays through Saturdays 11:00am-4:00pm. Prices for logo shorts and shirts are $15 each, sweatpants $25, and sweatshirts $30. AHS logo gear is not required, and any white shirt and red shorts/sweatpants are acceptable. Students in PE will be required to wear appropriate attire starting August 21st.
Yearbook sales will be online at yearbookordercenter.com starting August 14th. Use order number: 12564 to access Albany High School’s sales. Yearbook prices start at $85 and prices will increase to $90 in October.
Campus Tours - August 10th and 11th
Tours will be available from 2:00p to 4:00p on Thursday, August 10th and Friday, August 11th for all Frosh and any other students new to Albany. All tours will start in the Atrium of AHS, and students and their families will be able to sign up between 12:00p and 3:00p in the Atrium.
First Day of School - August 14th
Our first day of school is Monday, August 14th. The first day of school will have a modified schedule starting with a Welcome Rally for all Frosh in the Gym starting at 8:30a. All other classes will begin at 9:15a. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors do not need to come to campus until 9:15a.
