General

  • Hoco dance is Sat Oct 24th,from 7-10pm. Tickets will be sold in the atrium during Lunch and After School. Bring your signed dance agreement and $5 cash. You can pick up the dance agreement form from the book room. No outside guests are allowed. Ticket sales are capped at 500, first come first serve. 

  • Musical Chairs finals today in the gym at lunch! Don't miss it. Tomorrow is Twin Day—dress up with your twin and get counted at break for class points. The homecoming food drive ends tomorrow at 2pm. Bring non-perishable, non-glass cans to the atrium bins to help your class score! 

  • Are you a senior interested in a free trip to another state this summer? Find out more at the last American Exchange Project meeting next Monday October 26th in room 309 at lunch. There will be pizza for the first to arrive. The American exchange project is not sponsored by AUSD, but it is free! 

College

  • College Visits This Week! On Wednesday, the University of Minnesota will be in the library during advisory, followed by Willamette University at lunch. On Friday, meet UC Santa Barbara during advisory and Oregon State University at lunch, both in the Little Theatre. 

  • Seniors, wondering how you’ll pay for college? Join us TONIGHT Wed. Oct 21st at 7pm on Zoom for Financial Aid Night! Learn about the FAFSA and types of financial aid to help make college affordable. Zoom link can be found in your email or the AHS website under Counseling > College & Career! 

Clubs

  • Creative writing club is meeting today Wednesday at Lunch in room C-201 

  • The AHS Model UN Club will meet today at lunch in Room C-202. 

  • Wishes & Wonders will be holding a boba sale today, after school in front of the Art Building. Drinks are $7 each, including Thai and Milk tea options. Be sure to stop by and support! 

Sports

  • Girls! Albany is starting a new JV basketball team! Little or no experience required. This will be a shorter season and everyone will make the team! Plan to meet for a low key workout Thursday at 7:30pm in the middle school gym or see Coach Bill for more information. 

  • Join us for the Mountain Biking team kickoff and info session in the school library on Wednesday, October 21, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Anyone interested in learning about the team is welcome, and we hope to see you there! stop by room 109b if you have other questions. 

  • BIG Cougar Shout Out to our amazing girls' golf team. Albany dominated the TCAL championships on Monday, beating second place St. Mary's by 26 strokes! Ladies! Way to do us proud. Next stop- NCS Tournament. 

  • AWESOME JOB Cougar Volleyball! Albany won a thrilling five game match against Saint Mary's Monday to advance to tonight's TCAL championship game at Salesian. The crowd was crazy rockin on Monday so let's keep it going. The team will pay for the first 50 student tickets, so get out there tonight
