 General


  • Calling all students who love the arts: Enter the National PTA’s annual arts contest, Reflections. This year’s theme is “What My Culture Means to Me”. Deadline is Oct. 12; find out more on ParentSquare. The PTSA is excited to see your creativity! 

  • Ask A Counselor is back! Every advisory a counselor is on hand just outside the offices to answer general questions about classes, the future, college, careers and more. This Friday, come relieve stress with some relaxing coloring. Hope to see you there! 

  • The Aquatic Center is hiring!!! Want a fulfilling part time job? We are hiring Lifeguards and Swim Instructors!!! Go to albanyAquaticCenter.com for more information.

  • Freshman and Sophomores Thursday 8/27 and Friday 8/28 are your locker days. Come to the Bookroom Roll-up window with your locker buddy and your previous year’s school ID or another Identification card. 

College

  • College Reps Visits will start next week. Check the AHS Counseling Website under "College and Career" to see which schools will be here. Sign up to receive an advisory pass or lunch time reminder. https://forms.gle/UCYz4i1HfBHM2QrR6

  • Hey Seniors, Do you have questions about college applications? Letter of Rec? Xello? Counselors will be going into your Gov class next week to present about college applications. College Application Night on Wed Sept 2nd via zoom 7pm to 8:30. Make sure you attend to get all questions answered. 

Club

  • MANDATORY Presidents’ Meeting is today Wed, Aug 26th, at lunch in the Little Theater! If you want to be part of club rush you must attend this meeting.  

  • The AHS Model UN Club will meet today Wednesday, August 26, at lunch in Room C-202. 

Sports

  • Good luck Cougar flag football today as they travel to Hercules for their first ever competition! Play hard and get after it ladies! 

  • Women's Water Polo will have a home game against Castro Valley this Friday, August 28th. Come at 5 pm for an exciting game!  

  • Congratulations Girls Water Polo for advancing to the Championship game of the Alameda tournament this weekend, a great showing and start to the season. 

  • Friday night the Cougar football team opens their season with a home game versus Lowell High School at 6pm. The team has been working hard, come out to support and start your weekend off right. Go Albany!
