The start of a new academic year at Albany High School is coming soon!


We hope it is a restful and enjoyable summer, and are excited to welcome back our continuing students as well as our new Cougars. We look forward to the opportunities and experiences awaiting all students, staff, and families in the 2026-2027 school year.


Freshman and New to Albany Orientation and Campus Tours - August 7th

On Friday, August 7th we will be holding tours for all students new to Albany High School and an orientation program for all 9th grade students. Freshman and New Student Orientation will begin at 3pm in the AHS Gym.


Tours start at 1:45 and run until 2:30, leaving from the school atrium every 15 minutes. There will be groups specifically for 9th grade parents and those students new to Albany. No sign-up is necessary.

Continuing Students
This year we will be making class schedules for all students visible in Aeries on Monday, August 10th. Continuing students will not need to come to school before the first day of school. In order to receive class schedules students must have no unpaid fines from previous school years, and parents must complete the annual data verification and authorizations in the Aeries parent portal. (Available in late July.)

School photos and student IDs will also be taken care of after the start of the school year.

First Day of School - August 12th

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th. The first day of school will have a modified schedule starting with a Welcome Rally for all Frosh in the Gym starting at 8:30a. All students will attend Advisory starting at 9:00a. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors do not need to come to campus until 9:00a.

Thursday, August 13th and Friday, August 14th will have the typical Block A and Block B schedules. All AHS bell schedules are available on our website.


Albany High School Clothing

Albany High School spirit store has logo gear available through DGH Outfitters.  This AHS Leadership’s spirit store gets a portion of the proceeds from sales.  The local-based company will prioritize all Albany High orders and ships home or to the school site


Students that will be taking PE this school year should be prepared to wear required attire starting Monday, August 17, 2026. Changing for PE is not required the first week of school. Students should have a plain white t-shirt, and a plain red short or sweatpant. Appropriate attire can be purchased at any personally preferred store, and the PE department will be selling AHS logo items. During the first days of class additional details will be provided.
