General    

• The first 45 students who would like to visit Bishop O’Dowd’s Black History Celebration should stop by S3 room A-109A today, Thursday, to pick up a permission slip.

• Seniors: Last chance to buy class panoramic pictures is Friday, February 13th! Bring $24 cash or check payable to Lifetouch to Ms. Pope in the bookroom by the end of the school day.

• School breakfast and lunch are required to include a fruit or a vegetable. Please remember to take one when you get your meal. If you don’t want to eat it, that’s okay—just place it in the basket on your way out of the cafeteria instead of throwing it away. If you only want fruit for breakfast or lunch, you can take it from the basket. Thanks for helping reduce food waste.

• Join us tonight at this year's Black History Month Celebration held in the AHS Little Theater from 6-8 pm. There will be exciting entertainment and delicious food.

College

• The Hispanic Scholar Fund: As a reminder, Phase 1 of This scholarship application closes on Sunday, February 15. It takes an average of 30 minutes for students to complete Phase I of the 2026 HSF Scholar Program Application. More info: https://www.hsf.net/sign-up/

• The Hispanic Community Affairs Council (HCAC) Scholarship: The HCAC supports educational access & success. Scholarship is based on financial need, academic record, personal statements, and an in-person interview. The application deadline is March 30, 2026. More info at hcac.awardspring.com

Sports

• Hey cougars! Come cheer on the Varsity girls basketball team as they begin their playoffs in the TCAL semi-finals tonight at 7! Our cougars had an incredible record of 11-1 this season, so bring your friends and come cheer on your league co-champions tonight in the AHS gym!

• Come support the Albany Boys Soccer Team tonight at home in the TCAL Final at 6:00 PM vs. Saint Mary’s! Students, be sure to grab a raffle ticket before kickoff for a chance to win a free pizza. Bring the energy, make some noise, and we’ll see you there!
