General    

• Starting today, in order to alleviate the delays for students getting back to class, food service will be providing an additional line for break and lunch at the Snack Shack in the Gym Lobby. All of the regular breakfast items will be available, and lunch will be quick grab and go salads, sandwiches, pizza, and served with fruit and milk. 

• Attention to TEACHERS & Students of TEACHERS- The California Teachers Association (CTA- the Teacher Union) has numerous scholarships available to its members & children of its members- make sure to review their website and apply! https://www.cta.org/for-educators/scholarships-awards/cta-scholarships

• Looking for a spring refresh? Come by the atrium Monday, January 26th, at lunch for the spring thrifting event to pick up some great clothing at amazing prices! See you there!

• Children with disabilities need swim partners! SNAPkids is looking for motivated and positive volunteers to work in the water with our swimmers, a minimum of 1 hour a week on Sundays at the Albany Aquatic Center (at AHS). You will work with a child with a disability or special learning need. It's great fun and important to our swimmers. You need to be at least 15 years old, a strong swimmer, and be a positive person. Training is provided, orientation is on Sunday, 1/25/26, from 10:30-1:30 at the Berkeley YMCA. This is a great way to earn community service credit and have fun! College

• The California Interscholastic Foundation (CIF) Scholarship application is available and due March 2nd. Senior Student Athletes- apply today! https://www.cifstate.org/parents-students/awards_and_scholarships/scholar-athlete

Clubs

• Feeling hungry after school? Come support Class of 28's bake sale in the atrium! We will be taking cash and card, so see you there!

• Film club will be meeting during lunch today in room 306. We will continue watching Labyrinth, bring your friends, and enjoy the movie!

• The Healthcare Equity and Research (HER) club meets on Mondays in room 202. We spread awareness for healthcare issues and educate women and minorities about their bodies and rights. Join us for fundraisers, research, volunteering, and more! Come for snacks and something to add to your college apps!

Sports

• Boys Frosh Basketball, early release at 2:30 pm

• Huge Congrats to Cougar boys soccer for their incredible 3-2 victory over Richmond Tuesday, giving them first place in TCAL. Albany remains undefeated and is ranked #69 in the state! Don't miss SENIOR NIGHT for this amazing team tonight at Cougar Field. Celebration begins at 6:30! Co Cougs!

• Swimmers- Be sure to attend an important organizational meeting on the pool deck Friday at 12;45. Meet the coach and get all the important info as we begin a great 2026 season of Cougar Swimming! Be sure you are officially registered. . . and see you there!
