General

  1. Star Testing!  Get your Star Test Groove on Mon., 4/25 – Fri., 4/29.  Get excited & eat a good breakfast.  Notice the big schedule changes next week & get here on time. Seniors will attend a mandatory assembly on Monday, 4/25 from 9-11am in the Little Theater regarding graduation & Ca. Highway Patrol laws.  After this date seniors should go the library or MPR for quiet study time.  Wednesday, 4/27 will be a regular 7th period Monday Schedule.    Make up exams will be given on Tuesday, May 3rd @ 7:40 in the Little Theater.  Block A classes will meet on Tuesday & Thursday.  Block B classes will meet on Monday & Friday.
  2. The AHS prom is May 21st on the Hornblower Yacht in S.F.  Ticket includes a full dinner and dessert, dancing and a 4 hour bay cruise.  Tickets will be sold from April 25th to May 2nd.  May 2nd is the deadline to buy your tickets.  Tickets will NOT be sold after May 2nd due to the caterer’s contract.  Tickets are $95 for all guests, juniors and seniors.  Seniors do receive a discount:  $75 for the first 50 seniors, $85 for the next 80 seniors.  All guest passes are due to Ms. Benau by 4:00 pm on April 28th.
  3. The Albany Arts & Green Festival is Sunday, May 1st, at Memorial Park from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Interested in volunteering?  Contact April Yang or email albanyleadership@gmail.com  Come for a day of food, fun, games and music by the AHS jazz band and Rhythm Bound. 
  4. Come celebrate Earth Day today by making a pledge to the Earth!  Join us at lunch in the amphitheater.
  5. AP Exams are two weeks away. Next week we will hold a MANDATORY pre-administration session for all students taking one or more exams . See Ms. Burns with questions.
  6. I-M softball playing today: The Grease Cleaners vs Erythropoietins
  7. Seniors: You must pay all library fines in order to walk the stage at graduation. A list of senior library fines is posted outside the library in your English and History classes. See Ms. Oremland w/questions.
  8. The seventh AP Comparative Gov’t session is Tuesday evening, 4/26 @ 7pm in Rm. 18
  9. Albany's Earth Day Celebration - Help clean up our shoreline!  Join your fellow Albany residents in cleaning up our beach and the Bulb this Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am – 12 pm!  Keeping the   shoreline pristine improves wildlife habitat, makes the area safer for children, and helps prevent pollution of our oceans.  
  10. Today’s lunch menu: Deli Sandwiches, Chicken Garden Salad, Pizza, & Mexican Chicken Sandwich
  11. Vegetarian menu: Pizza, Fruit, & Milk

College/Career

  1. Seniors:  Today is the last day to turn in your Local Scholarship Application.

  2. Theater Ensemble and performance techs: There is a backstage tour of the Berkeley Rep next week, Tuesday April 26 at 4:00. All Interested see Ms. Samonsky to sign up.
  3. The Model UN will elect officers for the 2011-12 school year @ lunch on Wed., 4/27 in Rm. 18.  Candidates should be prepared to speak.
