General
  1. CAHSEE Testing for 11th and 12th grade students who need to take the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is happening this week. Tomorrow is the English portion and Wednesday Oct 8th is the Math portion Good Luck!
  2. Sign up for the PSAT at lunch at the bookroom window Monday, 10/6, and Tuesday, 10/7. We are in the final days of registration - don't miss your chance to sign up! $25 exact change or check to AUSD. Please bring your ID when you register. 
  3. Lip Sync approval will be held in Rm 22 of the Art Building on October 7 for the Freshmen & Juniors and October 9 after school in Room 22 for Seniors and Sophomores.  
  4. Interested in being a student poll worker for the upcoming November election?  Alameda County is now accepting applications from students age 16 and up.  Please pick up an application at the Attendance Office. 
  5. Don’t be weighed down by the shame of your mistakes!  Buy erasers at the Venture store today!
College and Career
  1. Please join the Counseling Department for our annual College Night on Wednesday, October 8 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Representatives UC, CSU, Community College and private colleges will discuss admissions, academics, special programs and financial aid and answer your questions. We'll also have sessions on SAT/ACT including a session on changes to the SAT for the class of 2017, and an overview of the college application process especially for 11th graders. The event is especially for Juniors and Seniors but all are welcomed.
  2. The following colleges are visiting AHS this week: Washington University in St. Louis, Harvey Mudd College, and University of British Columbia.  Please sign-up at the Counseling Office.
  3. Alameda County District Attorney's Office is offering an exciting program for students interested in learning about the justice system.  The program runs from January to July 2015 and includes a summer internship.  For program requirements and an application, see Ms. Fan in the Counseling Office.
