  1. Congratulations to the 24 students who entered the 2016 World Languages Poster Contest. This year's theme was "Learning Languages Builds Bridges" and the Top Four entries were made by Angela Ding, Isabella Duong, Averly Sheltraw and Christine Wang. Other artists include Haoyi Tian, Emma Green, Jessica Shen-Wachter, Natalie Porras, Wendy Liu, Hana Minsky, Ashley Medrano Ramos, Daniel Dictado, Mahealani LaRosa, Evan Mallah, Hanalei Pederson, Harpreet Kaur, Zoe D'Amour, Zack Gilberg, Sarah Hartono, Lauren Chu, Alli Larman, Maria Collazos, Emily Liu, Natalia Urbas, Maria Fedyk, Natalie Marquina and Tess McGinley. Posters are on display next to the Main Office, so stop by to admire them and congratulate all the amazing artists!
  2. AUSD summer school is currently enrolling students. This 4-week, free program will be held from June 20th - July 15th. The courses being offered are English and History. Students who have failed an English or History class and need to make up those credits in order to graduate will be given priority enrollment. Students who have received Ds in English or History may also request an opportunity to improve their grade in summer school, but enrollment to these students will be given on a first come, first served basis if there is room in the program. Registration forms are available in the counseling office. 
  3. The sixth AP Comparative Government exam review session will be held this evening at 7 pm in Room 207. We'll be talking about Iranian government.
  4. The deadline for ordering a senior panoramic photo is May 10. Ordering info is in the attendance office.
College and Career
  1. Seal of Bi-literacy: Class of 2016 - Do you speak 2 or more languages? If so, you may qualify for the State Seal of Bi-literacy, an honor that is listed on your transcript and indicated on your diploma. Please see your language teacher for more information or get the application form from the Counseling or Main Office. They are due on April 29.
