Block A Schedule

  1. Seniors will report to their advisory classes on Friday. Roll will be taken after which teachers will bring their students to the gym. Our cap & gown representative from Achievers will hand out information packets and answer questions regarding graduation products. Be sure you don’t miss this very important meeting. Packets should be taken home. Remember the earlier you order your cap and gown the less it will cost.
  2. Are you a current Junior and think you might would be interested in being a State Board of Education Student Board Member? If you think you might be interested then contact Mr. Lopez or Ms. Pfohl for more information. 
  3. Come out and support the JV/V Football teams @ Cougar Field on Friday! JV game starts @ 4:00, Varsity @ 6:30. All AHS students admitted FREE with your student I.D. only -- $2.00 admission without I.D. While there, drop by the concessions stand and try some raspberry sorbet – handmade by the Albany Culinary Arts students. On sale this Friday only! 
  4. Global Navigator Scholarship information meeting tonight at 6:00 PM in Room 213. 
  5. Lunchtime Doubles Badminton tournament starts tomorrow. Please be on time. We have 16 teams competing.
  6. Don’t have time to change in the mornings? No problem. Tomorrow wear your favorite pjs to school.
  7. Hip Hop auditions for Albany Hip Hop Crew today at 3:50 pm in the multipurpose room. 
  8. We have extended the PSAT registration. We still have a few seats left and will stop selling when the seats run out. So please see Ms. Salas in the bookroom as soon as possible if you want to register for the PSAT.
  9. Want to get involved in this year's electoral process. Sign-up with The Alameda County Registrar to assist voters at polling places during the Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 8th. Bilingual speakers are encouraged to apply. Applications are available in Ms. Parrott's outbox. If you have any questions, please contact the Recruiting Unit at (510) 272-6971.
  10. There is a sugary drink tax measure on the November ballot in Albany. If you want to find out more about the issue, please contact or talk to Ms. O’Keefe in Rm 311. We welcome student participation.
  11. It’s that time of the year again where you don’t want to “fall” behind!!! Venture has all your school supplies for 20% off a $5 purchase thru the 30th. Get your school supplies at the Venture Store located in the gym lobby.

  1. Planning for Career Day 2016 is underway! If you know any local professionals that would be interested in presenting to AHS, please send them to to complete the Speaker Interest form.

  1. Planning on playing a winter sport? Then make sure you submit your online athletic clearance by Thursday, Nov. 3rd @ 3:00pm. Please be sure to upload your updated Medical Clearance form to your online account. Hard copies will not be accepted. If you already played a sport this year, then just log on to your athletic clearance account and update your account for the sport you want to play. Online registration can be found @
