General
  1. The library will be closing immediately after 5th period on Thursday. That means the library will be CLOSED FOR LUNCH and 7th and after school on Thursday. This is just for this Thursday, this week. 
  2. Did you miss Na No Wri Mo back in November, or drop out early? Did you like Na No Wri Mo so much that you wanted to do it again? Got a half finished writing project that you want to work on? This April you can participate in Camp NaNoWriMo. Set your own writing goals and work on any project you like. Go to nanowrimo.org or talk to Ms. Oremland.
  3. Congratulations to the JV Softball team on their first victory of the season! The Cougars defeated Salesian High School 21-11 on Friday, Mar. 27th. 
  4. Choir auditions take place the week following Spring Break. More information at albanychoirs.com, and interview and audition signups are in room 22!
  5. Calling all theater ensemble members. Please check your email if you've signed up to go to Ashland and respond to Ms. Fahrner. If you're still interested in the trip, come see Ms. Fahrner in M4, we have room for you!
College/Career
  1. Laney College is having its fourth annual Career and Technical Education Open House on Saturday, April 18th, from 10am to 2:30pm.  Learn about CTE programs and career options.  Programs range from welding, architecture, graphic arts to media communications, biomanufacturing and culinary arts.  There will be tours, demonstrations, lunch and raffle prizes.  For a flyer or more information, please see Ms. Finch in the library office.
  2. Attention Juniors!  If you signed up for Job Shadow Day, please come to a mandatory meeting Thursday, April 2nd, in the Little Theater at lunch.  You will be receiving your job shadow assignments and other important details about the event.  Please see Ms. Fan ASAP if you cannot make the meeting.
  3. Broad Impacts Student Network is a program created by AHS graduates Josh Wang and Katie Endo.  The program connects Juniors and Seniors to former AHS students at colleges across the country.  You will get tips about college applications and find out what it's really like to be on a certain campus from your mentors.  To sign up and find out more about BISN, come to a lunch meeting today in the Little Theater.
