Block A Schedule
  1. School pictures and proofs are available in the Attendance Office. Pick them up at break, lunch or after school.
  2. Venture has binders again!  Come see us at lunch or after school in the gym lobby for all your school supplies.  Also – hot popcorn served after school for $1.00.
  3. Seniors:  submit final class t-shirt designs to by tomorrow.  Voting will start soon so look out for more information.
  4. The library will be CLOSED today and Thursday during 3rd period and 5th period; and this Wednesday and Friday during 2nd and 4th.
  5. SENIORS -- If you are uncertain of your scheduled pportrait session, please see the lists posted outside room 206 or in the school lobby.  Questions? See Ms. Radford or call 888-898-GRAD. 
College and Career
  1. Attention Seniors: our annual College Application Information Night is scheduled for Tuesday  September 16th  at 7:00 PM in the Little Theater.  Counselors will be presenting an overview of the application processes for 4- year college bound students. We look forward to seeing you there! 
  2. UC Berkeley's Incentive Awards Program provides up to $32,000 in scholarship funds over eight semesters, and support services to qualifying students. Seniors with an academic GPA of 3.4 unweighted/3.7 weighted and socioeconomic hardship are invited to come learn more about how to apply for this prestigious honor. Informational meeting will be held today at lunch in room 201. See Ms. Burns with questions.
  3. Do you enjoy working with others?  Then help your fellow students by being a Peer Tutor!  You can tutor as a volunteer or for a small fee.  We are looking for tutors in all subjects, so come by the Counseling Office to pick up an application.  Applications are due to Ms. Fan by Friday, September 19th.
  4.  The following colleges are coming to AHS this week to meet with interested students:  University of Puget Sound, American University, Sarah Lawrence College, Evergreen State College, and Boston University.  Please sign-up at the Counseling Office.
  5. Quest Bridge is now accepting applications for their National College Match program.  This program connects low-income high school seniors with admission and scholarships to the nation’s leading colleges. For more information, pick up a flyer at the Counseling office or go to  Applications are due September 26th.
  6. Infinite Scholars Program is putting on a free Scholarship Fair on September 18th, located at Solano Community College in Vallejo.  This event is open to all high school students.  More information is posted outside the Counseling Office.
Clubs and Teams
  1. Sophomore Homecoming meeting this Friday at lunch in Rm 303.  All sophomore homecoming event team captains and coaches should attend.
  2. Build On  1st Mtg.    TODAY    LUNCH     RM. 206   3:30pm. 
  3. Girls Basketball   Today    3:30pm   in Foyer outside the snack bar.
  4. The Model UN Club will meet on Wednesday, September 10 at lunch in Room 207. 
  5. Speech & Debate Club   Thursday   Lunch   Rm M1   All those interested in upcoming tournaments should attend.  New members welcome.
  6. Robotics Club   Friday   Lunch   Rm 310   Returning and new members welcome.  We will discuss goals and a possible mini competition.
  7. What is a Science Bowl?  It’s a competition for the speedy, the gutsy and the knowledgable!  Come to the afterschool meeting on Wednesday in Rm 306.
