General
  1. Congratulations to our Ocean Science Bowl junior varsity and varsity teams! At the Regional competition at Stanford last Saturday, Andrew Lou, Andrew Zhang, Christine Wang and Frank Dai took SECOND in JV. Janice Shiu, Madeline Zhang, Andrew Liu, Maria Fedyk, and Andrii Krutchenko competed in varsity and took FIRST PLACE in a strong field. Shout out to Coach Andy Marsh and supporting teacher Maureen Wiser! This means that they are moving on to compete in the National Ocean Science Bowl in North Carolina in late April. Way to go Science Club!!!
  2. Theater Ensemble is proud to present Oklahoma, the show that changed musical theater forever! Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration features love, a bidding war, rivalry, and people from all walks of life banding together as a brand new state is created. Shows are next week Thursday 7pm, Friday 8pm, Saturday 2 and 8pm, and Sunday 3pm. Tickets at the door are $10 for students, and you can get tickets online at Brown Paper Tickets.
  3. If you haven't registered for the AP Exam, there's still time! Late fees may be applied. ​March 10th is the last day, so go to http://bit.ly/AHSAP today. 
  4. Juniors and Seniors will be taking the California Healthy Kids Survey during Advisory on Wednesday, March 2nd. Teachers, please do not give Advisory passes to Juniors and Seniors for Wednesday, March 2nd. If parents do not want their student to take the survey, please notify the Attendance Office at 558-2512.   5. The lost and found will be donated on March 3. You can check for lost items in the attendance office.
  6. Please donate professional clothing to Prospective Club’s clothing drive “Dress for Success”! Donations will go to low-income youth in Berkeley. You can place donations on the rack in the atrium.
College and Career
  1. Juniors!! Are interested in shadowing a local professional on the job? If so, be sure to register for Job Shadow Day. Check your AUSD email for details!
  2. Applications for UC Berkeley's Perception Science Internship are due next month. Go to PerceptionScienceInternship.com for details.
  3. College costs keep rising, but going to college doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. College Consultant Nicole Hosemann and Financial Coach Elizabeth Maggio have created a workshop for parents and teens to help you develop College Financial Savvy. March 12, 2016 9:00 am - 1:00 pm in Berkeley. You can register online at Brown Paper Tickets for the College Financial Savvy workshop. Check the counseling office info table for a flyer with more details.
  4. Attention Seniors: Only one week left! March 4th is the deadline to submit your application for the Berkeley Kiwanis Scholarship. Applications are available in the Counseling Office. Don't miss this opportunity.
  5. Has mid-winter break already got you thinking ahead to summer break? Consider the USC "freshman year preview" which offers 2 & 4 week sessions for sampling college level courses.
