General
  1. The Social Science Department will have an informational on the electives offered for next year today at Lunch in the Little Theater. This includes AP Comp Govt/World Religions, AP Art History, Psychology, World Problems, and California History. Come learn about the curriculum and the course.
  2. The World Languages Department will hold its course information session this Thursday, February 4, at lunch in the Little Theater. Find out about world language requirements for colleges and universities, AP classes and the Seal of Biliteracy Award! 
  3. Come hear the fabulous sounds of Albany High Jazz and R&B musicians and vocalists at Yoshi's Oakland, on Monday, February 8 at 8:00pm. It is a great evening for all, and ticket sales support music in all Albany schools. Ask any student in Jazz Band, Jazz Lab or Rhythm Bound for tickets or buy tickets online at Yoshis.com
  4. Celebrate the enterprising spirit of youth! Come hear from Andrew Sutherland, CTO of Quizlet and an Albany High grad as well as our local VENTURE business leaders this evening from 5:30 – 7:30 in the Albany High Little Theater.
  5. Valentine's Grams are back! Send an anonymous card, flower, and candy to your loved ones along with Vocal Soul's personalized singing telegrams, featuring songs like "I'm Yours", "Cheerleader", and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". Sold at lunch and after school in front of the Art Building all week!
  6. Support AHS Women’s Soccer and the Albany Athletics Boosters by dining out on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 5:30-8:30 pm at Chipotle Mexican Grill at 9901 San Pablo in El Cerrito. Mention “Albany Athletics Boosters” when you pay for your order and Chipotle will donate 50% of the proceeds to AAB benefiting AHS Women’s Soccer. Go Cougars! 
College and Career
  1. Want to take a look inside the FBI? Check out the FBI Teen Academy. This one-day course is held once a year on the third Friday in April. Please e-mail outreach.sf@ic.fbi.gov to be added to the distribution list. Applications are accepted this month of January only.
  2. The East Bay Regional Park District is hosting a Youth Job Fair on February 6 at Richard C. Trudeau Training Center in Oakland, for upcoming summer jobs. For more information visit EBparks.org. 
  3. Need help preparing for the SAT? We want to bring in FREE help for you, but we need demonstrated interest. If you would be interested in using these services, sign-up with Ms. Parrott in the FLEX office.
