Block A Schedule

General
  1. Picture retakes will be next Tuesday, October 11 in the library. If you haven't picked up your pictures yet, how will you know if you need a retake? Please pick up school pictures ASAP in the attendance office. If you want to have a retake bring your old package to retake day and give it to the photographer. If your picture wasn't taken before you can pick up order forms in the attendance office. 
  2. Get ready for the AHS Mock Election! Exercise your right to vote on Monday, Oct 10th. Vote online through your school email for president, state officials, propositions and a local measure. Rock the Mock!
  3. Soon the FLEX Office will have tutors available for a variety of subjects. If you are looking for some additional support, come to the FLEX Office and sign-up. We will match you with a tutor who can help you in the subjects you’re interested in.
  4. Come out and support the Frosh/JV/Varsity Volleyball teams as they host St. Mary’s in Cougar Gym TODAY. Frosh game @ 4:00, JV @ 5:30, Varsity @ 7:00pm. Remember, all AHS students are admitted FREE with student I.D or $2.00 without your ID. Hope to see you there!
  5. The Cougar Football teams will host Kennedy H.S. @ Cougar Field on Friday, Oct. 7th. JV game @ 4:00, Varsity @ 6:30pm. Remember, all AHS students are admitted FREE with student I.D or $2.00 without your ID. 
  6. Interested in volunteering abroad next summer and improving your Spanish? Join Amigos! Amigos de Las Americas’ San Francisco Chapter’s applications are due October 15th at https://sanfrancisco.amigosinternational.org
  7. Come audition for Theater Ensemble’s fall production “The Visit” by Friedrich Durrenmatt. Auditions will be Monday, Oct 10th, and Tuesday, Oct 11th, after school in the Multi-Purpose Room. See you there!
  8. Do you enjoy being around the pool? Swimming? Working with kids? Being a valuable asset to your community and school? Then working at the Albany Aquatic Center is the perfect job for you! You do not need any prior training or experience, although it is a plus. We will train upon hire and set you up to be a successful member of our team. We are hiring for Swim instructors and Lifeguards right now. Stop by the Aquatic Center and pick up an application, we look forward to meeting you!

  1. Planning on playing a winter sport? Then make sure you submit your online athletic clearance by Thursday, Nov. 3rd @ 3:00pm. Please be sure to upload your updated Medical Clearance form to your online account. Hard copies will not be accepted. If you already played a sport this year, then just log on to your athletic clearance account and update your account for the sport you want to play. Online registration can be found @ GoAlbanyAthletics.org
  2. It's time for another year of girls’ soccer!! Any girl interested in playing this upcoming 2016/17 season, should attend a mandatory meeting this Friday during lunch time at the wrestling gym. We will talk about requirements, schedule, rules, fundraising, and tryouts!
