General
  1. Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: Friday, during Advisory, Counselors will be available in the Little Theater to answer any questions that you may have about registering for next year’s classes. Please make sure you review the PowerPoint under the Counseling tab on the AHS website first as most questions can be answered there. If you still have questions, please come prepared. Time is limited. 
  2. Sophomores: Are you interested in doing an internship, using the environment as a common theme, doing more project-based active learning, or being part of a smaller community within the school? Then check out EDSET! To find our more, there will be an informational meeting on Friday at lunch in room 304. If you can't make the meeting, stop by room 304 anytime.
  3. Join us tonight at 5:30 at Ocean View Elementary School for a black history month celebration. Parents and students are all welcome. George Washington Carver developed 300 derivative products from peanuts among them cheese, milk, coffee, flour, ink, dyes, plastics, wood stains, soap, linoleum, medicinal oils and cosmetics.
  4. Seniors: 1) Last chance to respond to the senior statistics survey is this week. 2) If you haven’t verified your name for your diploma, you have until tomorrow to stop by the main office and check it out.
  5. Attention JV Girls Soccer Players! All uniforms and team bags need to be returned to the Athletic Office by Friday, Feb. 12th during lunch. All players who fail to return all items by Friday at lunch will receive a fine for the replacement cost. 
  6. Come out to support the varsity girls soccer team as they take on St. Mary’s for the league championship on Thursday, Feb. 11th @ 4:00pm at Richmond H.S. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for student. Hope to see you there! 
  7. Come join the fun! Auditions for Dance 2 for PE 2 or Visual & Performing Arts credit will be Wednesday, February 24th at 2:50 pm in the multipurpose room. See Mrs. Baker for more information.
  8. IM Lunchtime Soccer will begin right after break at lunch on Monday, Feb. 22nd. For all those teams that signed up, please be ready to play. 
College and Career
  1. Applications are now available for UC Berkeley's Perception Science Internship. Go to PerceptionScienceInternship.com for details.
  2. Considering a career in procedure-based medical fields, such as surgery, dental surgery, EMT/paramedics, and nursing? The two-week Stanford Clinical Anatomy Summer Program may be just the right opportunity for you!   3. If you are a student engaged in Hispanic and Latino communities, you should apply to the Neubauer Family Adelante Summer Scholars Program. Selected students will participate in one of two University of Chicago Summer Session Insight courses free of charge with a full scholarship to live on campus. Applications are due March 15. Visit the AHS website for how to apply.
