Block A Schedule

  1. Congratulations to our very own Amnesty International Club for winning high school student group of the year in the west! If you’re interested in working for human rights, join Amnesty. They meet every Wednesday at lunch in Rm 215.
  2. It's time for the annual shopping day to benefit the Albany Education Foundation. Shop all day Saturday, December 5th, at the El Cerrito Plaza and your purchase will benefit the Albany Education Foundation. Friendly Key Club volunteers will help AMS students wrap any holiday purchases from 9 AM until 5 PM, but you can shop all day just be sure to tell the cashier that you want your purchase to benefit AEF. While you do your own shopping, it's also possible to purchase a book requested by Ms Oremland as a gift for the AHS library. Volunteers will have the "Wish Lists". If you cannot shop that day, the number will be good Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. If you prefer to shop on line, go to, make your selection(s), enter our bookfair number 11631975 at checkout .
  3. Are you ready to have an adventure with Venture? Enter our 12 days of giveaways by taking a picture a the Venture Store or a picture of you showing holiday spirit, post it with #12daysatventure and @ahsventure using your public Instagram account. We will pick winners each day. Prizes will be holiday hot chocolate and other treats. Giveaways will last until December 16th.
  4. Submit your art, writing, video and music of all genres and lengths to Albany High’s literary magazine, ­Key Route! Send them to for a chance to be published online or in print!
  5. S.F. State surveys are due this week for the $10 compensation.
  6. Do you want your art to be published? Email a clear picture of your art as well as a small description. Our current theme is text and change. We look forward to seeing your creations.
  7. Come to the Art Club’s 3rd annual studio nite—live model for figure drawing, materials provided. Bring a snack to share this Friday from 4:00 – 7:00, Rm 128 in the art building.
College and Career
  1. Advisory Teachers, thank you for your assistance with Selection Sheet distribution & collection. If you have any outstanding collection sheets, please put them in Ms. Parrott's box today, so that your students' requests will be considered during Career Day ticket distribution. 
  2. Also, if you have not already done so, please complete the room inventory that was emailed to you on November 19th, so that the speakers can be assigned to rooms with equipment suitable for their presentations. Thank you!!
