Block A Schedule 

General 

  1. This Friday is the first meeting for the AHS Pep Band!  Go to Rm. 20 in the Art Building for an advisory pass for Friday the 7th.  Be there and be square.  Go Cougars!! 
  2. Students please be sure to turn in the signature page that was handed out on the first day of school. You may return them to the attendance office. Blank forms are available in the attendance office.
  3. Lockers will be assigned to freshmen and students new to AHS today whose names begin S-Z. Locks cost $5. You must use our lock and share a locker. If you want a locker bring your partner, school ID and money to the bookroom window at lunchtime. Other AHS students may get lockers starting Tuesday, September 11. 
College/Career
  1. College admission counselors are visiting Albany High this fall!  For the week of 9/10-9/14, the following schools are scheduled to present: University of Pennsylvania, Whitman College, Scripps College, University of the Pacific, and Seton Hall University.  All meetings will be held at the Counseling Office Conference Room unless otherwise noted.  Sign-ups are located at the Counseling Office. 
  2. Are you interested in working with Albany High students and earning community service hours?  Then sign-up to become a peer tutor! We are looking for tutors in all subjects.  Please pick up an application at the Counseling office and return completed applications by next Friday, 9/14.
  3. The Downtown Berkeley YMCA is accepting applications for their High School Internship Program.  This program will help you gain job skills and work experience while volunteering at various departments at the YMCA.  You can pick up more information and an application with Ms. Fan at the Counseling Office.  Deadline to submit application is 9/20. 

Club/Team Announcements
  1. Fashion Club meets today at lunch in Rm M4. This is the first meeting of the year.  There will be info on upcoming exhibits and fashion shows.  Come, there will be food, coupons and lots of fun! 
  2. Girls Golf team meeting today after school at 2:15 in the gym atrium.  All team members need to attend this short meeting. 
  3. The Debate Club will meet today at lunch and afterschool in Room 201. All those interested in debating are encouraged to attend.  New members are welcome. 
  4. Returning Key Club members meet in Rm 303 Friday at lunch for RTC information.
Faculty

  1. Teachers please release the cheerleaders and varsity football team at 11:40 on Friday ( they should all be in uniform so you can identify them).  They are preparing for the lunch time home game rally in the courtyard.
