Block B Schedule

  1. The weight room is now open at lunch for all students. Come in and get your lift on.
  2. Hey Cougars! Please invite your parents to meet all your teachers & visit your classes at Back-to-School Night tonight, Wed. Sept. 19th. We will begin at 7:00 PM in the Gym so be sure to fill out your schedules today in Advisory and take home the letter to your parents. It's always a fun evening!
  3. Club Rush Day is today during lunch, 11:50-12:35. All students are invited to explore over 30 individual clubs. We hope you find one you like and join.
  4. Tardy Detention will be at 2:20 today in the Multi Purpose Room. Students who received a tardy detention notice must serve a 30 minute detention.
  5. The gym will be open on Mondays and Fridays during lunch for badminton and Wednesdays for basketball. All are welcome!
  6. Get your photo taken in order to be included in this year's yearbook. Students who did not have their picture taken during orientation will be sent for on Thursday, September 20 to have a picture taken. If you wish to order a picture packet please pick up an order form in the Attendance Office and bring it to the photographer with payment on September 20. If you got a packet and wish to retake your photo you must return the original packet to the photographer.
  1. AHS is offering the PSAT for Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen on Saturday, October 20th from 8:00am until 12:00 noon. Registration begins for Juniors on Wed/Thur, Sept 26th and 27th. Sophomores begin Friday, Sept. 28th and Monday, Oct. 1st. All grades can sign up beginning Tuesday, Oct. 2nd. Cost is $25.00 in cash (exact change, please!) or check payable to Albany Unified School District. Registration will be held at the bookroom outside window near the gym during lunch only.   2. Are you signed up to take the ACT test in October? Berkeley Tutors Network is offering a free one-hour workshop where test content will be discussed and you will work through an online curriculum that can help you prepare for the exam. This workshop will take place next Tuesday, 9/25, at the Library after-school. Space is limited and interested students should sign up with Ms. Fan at the Counseling Office as soon as possible.
  3. A free workshop titled "How to write the SAT Essay and the Personal Essay for Your College Application" will be held this Saturday, 9/22, from 10:30 AM to noon, at the Berkeley Public Library in Downtown Berkeley.
  4. Seniors please join us for College Application Night where we will talk about all that you need to know in order to apply to the CSU, UC and Private universities. The college application night will be on September 20th in the little theater from 7pm to 8:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
