Block B Schedule

  1. Want to go to the library for Advisory? You MUST get an advisory pass from the librarian ahead of time. For Wednesday advisories, pick up a pass after school Tuesday or before school Wednesday. For Friday advisories pick up a pass after school Thursday or before school Friday. Students will not be admitted to the library without a valid advisory pass. 
  2. Close-Up Meeting Thursday in Room M3 at lunch. If you are planning on attending the inauguration trip to Washington DC or would like to find out more about it, please come to Room M3 at lunch on Thursday. See you there!
  3. Join the Albany Community Triathlon, a beginner-friendly event (400m swim, 10k bike, 3k run) at Memorial Park, 8:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012. Info and registration at Entry fee: $39 (early-bird reg. ends 9/16) – includes t-shirt & water bottle. Proceeds support Albany HS athletics.
  4. Attention to all current club presidents: remember to turn in your club charter forms to Ms. Salas ASAP and come to the mandatory lunch meeting today in Rm 214.
  5. Best Buddies Club is hosting a bake sale after school today. Stop by and treat yourself to cupcakes, brownies and more!
  6. Tardy detention will begin the week of September 17. Students with 5 or more unexcused tardies will be required to serve after school detention. Avoid tardy detention by being on time to school and your classes.
  7. Wanted: Adapted PE Pals – 5th period. Help students with disabilities participate in physical education class. Fun! Interesting! Please come to Rm 219 at the beginning of 5th period and talk with Ms. Henderson.
  8. Mandatory meeting for all students traveling to Europe with Ms. DeHart in 2013 today during lunch in Rm 215. Any students interested in learning more about the trip are invited as well.
  1. Seniors please join us on for College Application Night where we will talk about all that you need to know in order to apply to the CSU, UC and Private universities. The college application night will be on September 20th in the little theater from 7pm to 8:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
  2. Attention Juniors and Seniors, The Alameda County Youth Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for participants who are interested in government and politics. This is a free, award-winning program that gives students the opportunity to learn about and discuss County programs and services, develop leadership skills and meet students from schools throughout Alameda County. Club/Team Announcements
  1. Mural Project Club will be meeting today and Friday during lunch in Rm 111. Come find out what the club is about and design posters for our club rush. All delegated team members and new and interested people are welcome.
  2. Attention potential GSA members, the first meeting will be today at lunch in Rm 204. Please come show support.
  3. If you have money for pep band t-shirts, bring it to Mr. Bryant in Rm 20 by the end of the day.
  4. Debate Club – prep session Thursday afterschool in Rm. 201. New members welcome
  5. There will be an Earth Team meeting on Thursday, 9/13, in Rm 302.
  6. Model UN -- today at lunch in Rm. 207. New members welcome.
  7. Mountain bike team: Meet in room 313 Thursday at lunch. New riders welcome.
  8. Best Buddies Annual Kick-Off Pizza Party is this Thursday at lunch in Rm 219. Enjoy pizza and beverages while learning what Best Buddies is all about. Lower classmen are extremely encouraged to attend. See you there!
  9. The first meeting for Sound Crew will be at lunch today in Rm 20. If you like music or if you want a cool Bro-Tank, come by and join.
