Block B Schedule

  1. Seniors will be completing their Career Day Selection Forms today during Advisory.  Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors, if you didn't complete a form last Friday, please ask your Advisory teacher or get a blank form from Ms. Fan at the Counseling Office.  All Career Day Selection Forms should be completed during Advisory TODAY.
  2. Get ready for Homecoming Week!  Today is class color day & powder puff finals.  Thursday – Halloween costumes and boys volleyball finals.  Friday – red & white day and lip sync.
  3. The AHS Varsity Football team defeated Richmond High School 34-12 on Friday, Oct. 25th. Congratulations on a job well done! 
  4. Friday Night Lights
    • The Homecoming Football games will take place this Friday, Nov. 1st at Cougar Field. Come out and support your team as they take on the visiting Eagles from Kennedy High School.  JV game starts at 4:00 Varsity game starts at 6:30   Admission: $5.00/Adults $2.00/Students, Children, Seniors   Remembers that all backpacks and bags will be checked at the gate!  Hope to see everyone there!   GO COUGARS!
  5. The Homecoming Dance will be the best ever this year!  You can buy tickets at the outside bookroom window at lunch and after school Thursday & Friday for $10.00.  You must have a signed dance agreement to buy your ticket.  Dance and guest agreements are available in the attendance office.  Guest agreements are due in the attendance office on Friday by 9:00 am.  So on Friday go out and support your Cougar Football team and then celebrate with your friends at the Homecoming Dance!
  6. This is a message to all you people that got caught slipping without any spirit gear.  The Venture store has all the last minute accessories you need to show your class-spirit, so make sure to come the gym lobby today!
  7. If you want your class to gain more homecoming points donate now to the canned food drive.  The food drive will be located near each homecoming event October 28th thru November 1st.  We will not take expired canned foods.
  8. THE AHS choirs are hosting their first movie night tonight!  Get homecoming points and sing along to your favorite Halloween/Christmas crossover for only $3/students.
  9. IM lunchtime 3 on 3 basketball tournament starts Monday, Nov. 4th at lunch in the gym. Games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. See Ms V or gym lobby for game schedules.
  10. On November 5th there will be a blood drive in the gym.  You must be at least 16 years old to donate.  Sign up and pick up forms in the Attendance Office.
  11. Have you ever wanted to write a novel but didn't think you could? You should do Na No Wri Mo*, the National Novel Writing Month project and try to write a novel during the month of November. It's a free online program where you can find writing buddies and get ideas, tips, and encouragements to get it done. See Ms. Oremland in the library if you'd like to find out who else at AHS is participating. NaNoWriMo begins November 1st.
  12. Attn Students:  If you are interested in a trip with your friends to Europe next year come to a planning meeting next Monday, November 4th, in Rm 215.  Sign up early, get a great price!
  1. Seniors not sure how to fill out your CSU, UC and private applications? Do you need someone to edit your application? Then stop by room 310 Mondays from 3:30 to 5pm for help by Mrs.A. Computers will be available during this time. If you cannot make it after school counselors will be available at lunch Tuesdays and Thursdays to help!
  1. Are you planning on playing on a winter sports team? If so, you need to submit your Athletic Clearance Paperwork to the Main Office by Thursday, Nov. 7th.  Otherwise, you will not be cleared to try out on the first day of practice on Monday, Nov. 11th. Athletic Clearance Packets are available in the Main Office and on the AHS website.  
  2. The Model UN Club will meet during the first 15 minutes of lunch today in Room 207.
