Block A Schedule

  1. Dig pink for Albany girls’ volleyball.  October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  The volleyball team will be at a table during lunch in front of school collecting donations to go to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.  Please support.
  2. Art Club bake sale is Friday after school.  Come and support Art Club.
  3. Many families missed the opportunity to update student emergency information and contact authorizations including military recruitment permission. THE WINDOW HAS BEEN RE-OPENED. Go to the parent portal on AERIES (a link is found on the AUSD home page at the bottom). The window will close again on November 4. It is vital that all families check and update this information.
  4. Lost and Found items are being donated to charity on Friday, so check in the Attendance Office for lost items.
  5. The library will be closed today only during periods 1, 3, and 5 for CELDT testing. 
  1. For students interested in the environment and sustainability, Spare the Air is putting on a youth conference on November 2nd. Participants will have to opportunity to discuss issues around global climate change and transportation.  In addition, Rising Sun Energy Center is seeking applicants for their 2014 Youth Council.  For more information about these opportunities, please talk to Ms. Fan at the Counseling Office.
  2. The PSAT is this Saturday, Oct. 19. If you are taking the test, please arrive by 7:55. Your room assignment will be posted in the main entrance of the school. Bring two #2 pencils, an approved calculator, and a snack. The test will be done by noon.
  3. Seniors needing help with their Personal Statements: please attend the free Personal Statement Workshop work every Saturday from October 19th to Nov 23rd from 1pm to 4pm in room 220 Wheeler Hall at CAL. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to get help. Stop by the counseling office for more information.
  1. One Heart Club meeting today at lunch in Rm 211.  Don’t forget to come and bring friends.
  2. Chinese Culture Club will meet Monday, 10/21, at lunch.  We will hold a discussion on the dim sum sale.
  3. Art Club meeting Friday at lunch in Rm 128.  Remember our theme this week is contrast. 
  4. Come meet your fellow summoners!  Come join the First League of Legends Club meeting on Friday at lunch in Rm 311.  All are welcome!
  5. The Mountain Bike Team is having a mandatory parent & student meeting today at 7:00pm in Rm 313.  All new and returning members are encouraged to attend.
  6. There will be a baseball team meeting on Friday, Oct. 18th at lunch in Room 315. All those interested in playing on the baseball team this spring are expected to attend. 
  7. Debate Club will meet today in Rm 214 at lunch.
  8. Earth Team meets today at lunch in Rm 302.  New members welcome.
  9. The Robotics Club will meet this Friday at lunch in Rm 310.  We will be working with Arduino.  If you don’t know what that is, come to the meeting to find out!
  10. All boys who are interested in playing JV or varsity soccer this year must come to mandatory meeting today at the beginning of lunch in room 218.  We will hand out this year's schedule and talk about what is expected of all student athletes.  Meeting will not be too long but everyone who wants to play must attend.
