  1. Theater Ensemble’s fall production, Fortinbras, opens this weekend!  Come see this dark comedy sequel to Shakespeare’s Hamlet at 7:00pm on Thursday and Saturday or 8:00pm on Friday.  $7 for students and $13 for adults.
  2. Last week we showed our spirit, this week let’s show our heart.   The food drive is still going on.  Please bring in canned and boxed foods to help everyone in Alameda County have a Happy Thanksgiving.
  3. Come out and support the JV & Varsity Football teams, as well as our Seniors on Friday, Nov. 8th as they take on the visiting Indians from John Swett.  Help keep the momentum alive as the Varsity Football team tries to extend their win streak to 3 games.   JV game @ 4:00   Senior Ceremony at 6:00   Varsity game @ 6:30
  4. Come see a special screening of Singletrack High at the El Cerrito Theater this Saturday at 10:30 am.  This documentary showcases the Northern California High School Cycling League from the perspective of high school racers.  Tickets at
  1. Representatives from the U.S. Army will be here today to talk with interested students during Advisory.  The meeting will be in the Counseling Office; please get a pass from Ms. Fan.
  2. Do you need help with your CSU, UC and private applications? Ms. A will be in Rm 310 Mondays from 3:30 to 5pm to help you with your college application.
  3. The AHS Counseling Dept will be hosting Financial Aid on Wednesday November 13th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the AHS Theater.  Even if you don’t think you will qualify you should attend the evening because some colleges Merit scholarships are through the FAFSA only.

  8. All students who are trying out for boys jv and varsity soccer must attend a mandatory meeting in Room 218 during lunch on Thursday.   We will be discussing expectations for tryouts and the regular season. 
  9. Those interested in trying out for Girls Basketball this year please attend the information meeting at 3:30 today outside the gym.
  10. Women's Soccer Tryouts begin Wednesday November 13 -15 4pm-6pm at Cougar field.  Make sure to submit all athletic clearance documents prior to tryouts.  Athletes without clearance will not be allowed to tryout.  Please contact head coach Lilia Bello if you have any questions or concerns:
  11. Are you planning on playing on a winter sports team? If so, you need to submit your Athletic Clearance Paperwork to the Main Office by Thursday, Nov. 7th, to be cleared for the first day of tryouts.
