General
  1. Congratulations to the JV & Varsity Football teams on their wins vs. De Anza on Friday, Nov. 1st at the Homecoming games.  JV defeated De Anza 20-14 and Varsity defeated the visiting Don's by a landslide 56-0.  Congratulations!
  2. Come out and support the JV & Varsity Football teams, as well as our Seniors on Friday, Nov. 8th at they take on the visiting Indians from John Swett.  Help keep the momentum alive as the Varsity Football team tries to extend their win streak to 3 games after a whopping 56-0 victory over De Anza High School last Friday at the Homecoming game.  The Senior Night football schedule is as follows:
  3. JV game @ 4:00   Senior Ceremony at 6:00   Varsity game @ 6:30
  4. Come see a special screening of Singletrack High at the El Cerrito Theater this Saturday at 10:30 am.  This documentary showcases the Northern California High School Cycling League from the perspective of high school racers.  Tickets at www.mycommunitytickets.com. 
College/Career
  1. Seniors: not sure how to fill out your CSU, UC and private applications? Do you need someone to edit your application? Then stop by room 310 Mondays from 3:30 to 5pm for help by Mrs.A. Computers will be available during this time. If you cannot make it after school counselors will be available at lunch Tuesdays and Thursdays to help!
  2. The AHS Counseling Dept will be hosting Financial Aid Night on Wednesday November 13th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the AHS Theater.  This evening is important for any senior student and family who are planning on attending any type of college next year.  Financial Aid applies to 4 year college/universities, community colleges and career training schools. Even if you don’t think you will qualify you should attend the evening because some colleges' merit scholarships are through the FAFSA only.  Hope to see you Wednesday night
Clubs/Teams
  1. Feminist Club meeting today at lunch in Rm 18 in the art building.  Don’t be shy!
  2. Debate Club meeting   Thursday   Important news and papers to hand out.  Be there.
  3. buildOn meeting   Today   Rm 206.  We will be addressing club member participation, answering questions about Trek applications and doing a fun ice breaker.  Come with your friends.
  4. Robotics Club meeting   Friday   Lunch   Rm 310.  This meeting is mandatory for anyone who wishes to participate in the PIE robotics competition.  If you cannot come and wish to participate in the competition, please email py1676@gmail.com with your name and grade.
  5. The Model UN Club will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, at lunch in Room 207.
  6. The Ocean Protection League will meet this Wednesday at lunch in Rm 304. 
  7. All students who are trying out for boys jv and varsity soccer must attend a mandatory meeting in Room 218 during lunch on Thursday, 11/7.   We will be discussing the correct schedule for the season and times and expectations for tryouts and regular season. 
  8. Are you planning on playing on a winter sports team? If so, you need to submit your Athletic Clearance Paperwork to the Main Office by Thursday, Nov. 7th, to be cleared for the first day of tryouts.
