Block A Schedule

  1. Bring your books in for Children’s Hospital’s book drive.  Place them in the box at the atrium.  We accept books that are both new and old, picture and chapter, fiction and nonfiction.  They will be given to the patients at the hospital.  Nothing torn or damaged please!
  2. "Ten little soldier boys going out to dine.  One choked his little self and then there were nine.” Come to AHS Theater Ensemble’s production of “And Then There Were None” to hear the rest of this rhyme.  Shows are March 29, 30 & 31 and April 5, 6 & 7. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:00 and Sunday shows are at 5:00.  Tickets are $7 for students.  See you there!
  3. Congratulations to the many Albany Model UN Club members whose work was recognized at the Berkeley Model UN Conference earlier this month. Of the thirty AHS students who attended the Conference, half came home with awards. Mari Kamiya, Lucas Kampman, Yumi Kobayashi, Nancy Li, Chris Mullaney, Regina Park, Spencer Perry, Ingrid Rosenthal, Jeffrey Shi, Jerry Wu, Jonathan Wu, Jimmy Yan and Felix Yoon won research and writing awards. Moreover, Hannon Ayer, John Layton, Regina Park and Jerry Wu received commendations for their speaking and negotiating skills. 
  4. The library will be CLOSED periods 2,3,4,5 and 6 on Thursday and Friday for Debates but open at break and lunch.
  5. The third review session for the AP Comparative Government exam will be held Wednesday evening, March 27, at 7 pm in Room 207. 
  6. The spring blood drive is on Monday, April 8.  Students 16 and older are eligible to donate blood. Sign up lists and further information are in the attendance office.
  7. International Food Day is on Wednesday, 3/27, and Diversity Assembly is on Wednesday, 4/3.  Sign up to participate at the Attendance Office.
College and Career
  1. Seniors: Berkeley City College representatives will be here on Thursday April 4th at lunch in the Little Theater.  Come learn about how to register for community college, sign up for placement tests and getting set for next Fall.
Clubs and Teams
  1. The Model UN Cub will meet Wednesday, March 27 at lunch in Room 207.  All students interested in attending the UC Davis Model UN Conference in May should attend the meeting.  The last day to sign up for the Davis Conference is next Monday, April 1.
  2. Game Design Meeting this Thursday at lunch in Rm 213.
  3. International Food Day – if you are bringing food please be sure you have appropriate serving utensils.  If you need food heated up, please see Chef Clell today or fist thing in the morning.
  1. Softball players should be released from class at 2:30PM for a 4:00PM game against Berkeley.
