Block A Schedule

  1. AHS Men's Soccer team hosts John Swett in the TCAL Soccer Playoffs TONIGHT at Cougar Field at 5:00pm.  Admission: $6.00/Adults, $2.00/Students, Seniors, Children
  2. Vocal Soul's Valentine's Grams are back! Starting Monday, send an anonymous card, fresh carnation, and yummy candies to your friends, teachers, and loved ones along with the embarrassment or joy of singing by Vocal Soul! Starts Monday!
  3. Theater Ensemble’s production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee begins tonight at 5:00pm.  It will be our dress rehearsal.  Over the next 2 weekends our Friday and Saturday shows will start at 8:00pm and the Sunday shows will start at 5:00pm.  The doors will open a half hour before.  Tickets cost $10 for students and $15 for adults.  We will accept donations for the dress rehearsal.  Please come see our show.  It’s really funny.  Some teachers will be giving extra credit.
  4. IM Lunchtime Volleyball starts Friday, 2/1 at lunch. Captains see Ms. V for schedule. Playing Friday:  Team Blackhole vs Team Clique & Team All-Stars vs Team Alpha
  5. Students interested in Honors English (current sophomores) or AP English (current juniors) must attend one of two mandatory sign-up meetings.  Thursday February 7 or Friday February 8 at lunch in the Little Theater.  Please see Mr. Purdom in room 214 with any questions.
  6. The lost and found will be donated to charity next week. Come by the attendance office and look for lost clothing, phones and other items.
  7. The People's Test Preparation Services will be offering free SAT prep classes again this semester.  This 10-week course is scheduled to start on Tuesday, 2/12.  Sign-up with Ms. Fan at the Counseling office, space is limited! 
  8. Do you enjoy reading with children?  Then consider volunteering or interning with Reading Partners, a non-profit that matches reading tutors to elementary school students.  An info. session about this internship opportunity will be held during Advisory this Friday.  Please sign-up with Ms. Fan and pick up a flyer at the Counseling office.
Club/Team Announcements
  1. Debate Club -- prep afterschool today in Rm. 201. This prep is mandatory for all LD debaters attending the GGSA debate this weekend or Stanford Debate next weekend. 
  2. Game Design Club today at lunch in Rm 213.
  3. Leo’s meeting today in Rm 211 during lunch.
  4. Official track and field practice begins on Monday right after school. Come to the track and be sure to get all your forms in...tryouts will last two weeks only
  5. Comix Club meets at lunch in the library today. Special guest Jack Baur.
  6. Softball conditioning today at 5:30.
  7. Baseball tryouts start Monday, Feb 4, at 3:45pm on Memorial Field.  
  8. Football Players first meeting/sign ups today in the Gym @ 12:50pm. 
  9. Spring Athletic Clearance:  deadline today at 3:00pm if you want to attend tryouts on Monday, 2/4.
