Block A Schedule

College and Career
  1. IM Lunchtime Volleyball starts this week Friday, Feb. 1st at lunch. Captains please see Ms. V for schedule. Playing this Friday: Team Blackhole vs Team Clique and Team All-Stars vs Team Alpha
  2. Students interested in Honors English (current sophomores) or AP English (current juniors) must attend one of two mandatory sign-up meetings. Thursday February 7 or Friday February 8 at lunch in the Little Theater. Please see Mr. Purdom in room 214 with any questions.
  3. The lost and found will be donated to charity next week. Come by the attendance office and look for lost clothing, phones and other items.
  4. All students interested in a trip to Europe in 2014 (spring) please come to an informational meeting Wednesday (1/30) during lunch in Rm 215. All are welcome. Come get best prices.
  5. The People's Test Preparation Services will be offering free SAT prep classes again this semester. This 10-week course is scheduled to start on Tuesday, 2/12. Sign-up with Ms. Fan at the Counseling office, space is limited! 
  6. Do you enjoy reading with children? Then consider volunteering or interning with Reading Partners, a non-profit that matches reading tutors to elementary school students. An info. session about this internship opportunity will be held during Advisory this Friday. Please sign-up with Ms. Fan and pick up a flyer at the Counseling office.

Club/Team Announcements
  1. The Model UN Club will meet Wednesday, Jan. 30 at lunch in Room 207. The meeting is mandatory for delegates to the Berkeley Model UN Conference; attendance will be taken.
  2. Technovation starts this week. Some teams will be meeting on Tuesdays, some on Thursdays. We will start at 3:30 in the library. If you are in Technovation and not sure which day to meet, see Mr.Morris or Ms. Oremland
  3. Comix Club meets at lunch in the library on Thursday. Special guest Jack Baur will be there and we will talk about Ghostopolis and probably do some drawing, too. 
  4. Softball conditioning is cancelled this evening. We’ll condition on Thursday at 5:30.
  5. Albany High baseball tryouts start Monday, Feb 4, at 3:45pm on memorial Field. Please have your medical paperwork filled out and turned into the main office by Jan 31 in order to be cleared to tryout. See you on the diamond!
  6. Football Players first meeting/signups on Thursday Jan 31st in the Gym @ 12:50pm. 
  7. Spring Athletic Clearance: deadline to turn in Athletic Clearance Paperwork for first day tryouts is Thursday, Jan. 31st at 3:00pm.
