  1. Are you signed up for the Ashland trip? Come to M4 on Thursday or Friday during lunch for an important meeting. You must attend one of these meetings or speak with Ms. Fahrner in order to attend the trip. See you there!
  2. Calling all artists! The art blog is holding our second annual art contest. The theme is social media. All media is accepted. Please email all submissions to Enter for a chance to win a $20 Blick gift card. Deadline is May 31st. Can’t wait to see your submissions!
  3. Did you go to Ocean View School? If so, Ms. Yvonne, our beloved PE teacher is retiring. She would love to hear from all those of you who had her for PE at Ocean View School. All you have to do is come to the counseling office before May 19th and sign on one of the cards we have for you. Wish her a happy retirement!
  4. 2017 WL Poster Contest Winners for “Learn a New Language, Make a new Friend” were Entry#14 by Elizabeth Ding; #13 by Irene Oshita; and #5 by Moxie Evan. Honorable Mention went to #17 by Owen Ray. Other artists include Sarah Hartono, Caleb Foster, Piper Gusick, Joyce Deng, Athena Chow, Tienna Chen, Bach Nguyen, Mariette Patent, Calla Marchetti, Amy Tsang, Lily Suennen, Wendy Chen, Daniel Dictado, Jared Williams, Averly Sheltraw, Nagomu Kikchi, Thomas Xu, An-ya Cheng and Leanne Blum. Posters are on display by the Main Office. Congratulations to all 23 talented students!
  5. Seniors: Extra graduation ticket request letters written and signed by a parent and should be turned in at the Main Office by Friday, May 5th. No exceptions.
  6. Did you enjoy IHS Freshman year? Do you like helping people and educating your peers? Then peer help may be for you! Applications to join the 2017-2018 peer help group are now available in the counseling office for freshman and sophomores and they are due May 9th.
  7. AUSD SUMMER SCHOOL: AUSD Summer School is currently enrolling students. This 4-week, free program will be held from June 26 – July 21 with a holiday taken on July 4. The program will be held at Cornell Elementary School. The courses being offered are English and History. Students who have failed an English or History class and need to make up those credits in order to graduate will be given priority enrollment. Students who have received a D in English or History may also request an opportunity to improve their grade in summer school, but enrollment to these students will be given on a first-come, first-served basis based on space in the program. Registration forms are now available in the counseling office.
