Block A Schedule

General
  1. Seniors: Graduation tickets will be distributed after school on Wednesday, 5/24 in the Main Office. Please double check and clear any outstanding fines and overdue books with the library and bookroom. You won’t be able to pick up graduation tickets if you have outstanding fines.
  2. Looking to hear some homegrown, live music on Memorial Day Weekend? Join us at the final AHS Jazz concert of the school year at Ashkenaz in Berkeley, Sunday, May 28th at 7:00pm. Come out and support our award winning AHS Jazz Band and Jazz Lab ensembles and a special jazz combo performance. This concert has a great vibe… a relaxed, end of school celebration; the last concert with this group of graduating seniors; and the sweet sound of Jazz: Big Band, Latin, Swing, Modern. Something for everyone. Tickets are just $15 per person and benefit Albany Music Fund and music in all Albany schools. Get tickets from students in any of these bands or online at www.ashkenaz.com. This concert is appropriate for all ages.
  3. Don’t miss the AHS Dance Department’s Spring Dance Concert “Time Twist” Thursday, May 25 at 7pm and Friday, May 26 at 6:00 and 8:15pm in the Little Theater. Come support your favorite dancers from Dance 1,Dance 2, and Albany Dance Company. Tickets are $5 for students and AHS Staff, and $10 for adults. They are available now on Brownpapertickets.com.
  4. Bike to School Day is Thursday, May 25. Bike or roll to school and pick up free bike gear and baked goods! The Bikemobile will also be on campus during lunch to provide free tune-ups and repairs – make yourself a smoothie on the pedal bike while you wait!
College and Career
  1. West Point is coming to AHS tomorrow at 2pm! If you want to get more information on what it’s like to attend The Academy, sign-up on Naviance or in the Counseling Department.
  2. Attention all students who have signed up to take AP Comparative Government and World Religions next year. There will be mandatory meetings to distribute the summer reading and assignments on Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26 at lunch in Room 207. You must attend one of these meetings. If you cannot come to one of these meetings, please see Mr. James. If you do not come to one of these meetings, and do not make alternative arrangements with Mr. James, you will be dropped from AP Comparative Government/World Religions.
Clubs and Teams
  1. There will be a “mandatory” Cross Country meeting in Room 313 on Wednesday at noon… if you are interested in participating in the fall season, please come to this meeting. You will be given schedules for the fall season and we will discuss the upcoming season and potential fund-raising needs. In addition, we will discuss workouts for the summer months to keep everyone in tip top shape! Hope to see everyone there… also, be sure to bring anyone else who might be interested!
  2. Biology Club Meeting, today at lunch in Room 306. We’re doing an experiment, come join us!
  3. Last Feminist Club meeting of the year, today at lunch in Room 109A.
  4. Key Club Meeting this Wednesday. We will be selling Sharetea boba after school on Wednesday.
  5. Prospective Club is running a professional clothing drive until May 26th. Drop off clothing is in the atrium.
