Block A Schedule

  1. Happy Pi day Albany High! Come out at Lunch to celebrate and pie your teachers! $1 per pie.
  2. Congratulations to the boys and girls track team who got 2nd and 3rd place team trophies at the Martinez relay’s this past Saturday. Lots of personal bests happened and many athletes earned individual medals.
  3. Congratulations to Alex Hempel, Evan Mallah, and Jared Williams for winning outstanding delegate awards at the Berkeley Model Un Conference held earlier this month. Congratulations also go to Venus Chau, Mahima Silwal, Mathlilde McKeever, and Sarah Xu for earning commendations at the Conference.
  4. Congratulations to the AHS Science Olympiad team which competed in the Bay Area Regional Science Olympiad Competition on Saturday and won 1st place. The team will be advancing to the Northern California Science Olympiad State Competition in April. Congratulations to all who participated including the following students who won a total of 35 medals for AHS: Brandon Chen, Ishaan Das, Maria Fedyk, Cara Higgins, Amal Kaduwela, Milo Kearney, Alex Kireff, Philip Lee, Thomas Lee, William Li, Emily Lu, Jonathan Luo, Nathan Skinner, Linus Sun, Ruby Tang, Evan Zhong, and Yunfan Zhong. Further congratulations to Coach Ajith Kaduwela, who received the award for Outstanding Coach. The team’s faculty advisor is Ms. Risk.
  5. Spring and Shout and let it all out! AHS Spring Dance will be on March 17th in Memorial Hall from 6pm – 10pm. Tickets will be sold at lunch in the main atrium from the 13th-16th for $15. Prices go up at the door! Don’t forget to pick up a dance agreement at the leadership board!
  6. Are you interested in taking Dance 2 for PE 2 or Fine Art credit? Come to auditions Wednesday after school in the Multipurpose room! See posted flyers or contact Mrs. Baker for more details!
College and Career
  1. Hey Cougars! We are in the final stretch of the 2016-17 Graduate for Mas Challenge…Be sure to go to and complete the Round 2 Graduate for Mas Badge. You’ll not only help AHS earn a $500 grant, you’ll get insight into how your attendance impacts your life as well as tips & tricks for completing high school with ease. Show your completed badge to Ms. Parrott to get a token of appreciation for your efforts.
