Block B Schedule

  1. We all stand for something, what do YOU stand for? Stop by the Venture store in the gym lobby at lunch or after school to check out this years student-made designs. Pick yours up at the Venture store today, or order online at and REP THE CHANGE.
  2. Unidos will be on campus on Tuesday, May 30th during lunch in Room 104 and will also hold a community presentation at 6:30pm, doors open at 5:45. Unidos is a group of former students from the academically successful k-12 Mexican American Studies program in Tuscon that is now banned in Arizona.
  3. Join us at the final AHS Jazz concert of the school year at Ashkenaz on Sunday, May 28th at 7:00pm. Come out and support our award winning AHS Jazz Band and Jazz Lab ensembles and a special jazz combo performance. Tickets are just $15 per person and benefit Albany Music Fund and music in all Albany schools. Get tickets from students in any of these bands or online at This concert is appropriate for all ages.
  4. Don’t miss the AHS Dance Department’s Spring Dance Concert “Time Twist” on Friday, May 26 at 6:00 and 8:15pm in the Little Theater. Come support your favorite dancers from Dance 1,Dance 2, and Albany Dance Company. Tickets are $5 for students and AHS Staff, and $10 for adults. They are available now on
  5. If you haven’t done so already, turn in your summer school application ASAP to the Counseling Office.
  6. Are you an LGBT student who wants to go to a prom that’s just for you? Come to the East Bay High School Queer Prom on June 9th! Buy tickets from Grace Patterson or online by googling “east bay queer prom” and clicking on the first result. Tickets are $15 or 2 for $25, and after May 29th, all tickets cost $25.
College and Career
  1. All students signed up for AP Art History: Come pick up your summer work in room 215 at lunch either Tuesday, 5/30 or Wednesday, 5/31. Don’t forget!
  2. Attention all students who have signed up to take AP Comparative Government and World Religions next year. There will be mandatory meetings to distribute the summer reading and assignments on Friday, May 26 at lunch in Room 207. You must attend one of these meetings. If you cannot come to one of these meetings, please see Mr. James. If you do not come to one of these meetings, and do not make alternative arrangements with Mr. James, you will be dropped from AP Comparative Government/World Religions.
  3. Are you interested in a field of health or medicine? You have a unique opportunity to enroll in Berkeley Community College course in the Fall which will be HERE ON AHS CAMPUS! The semester course is “ Health and Wellness” – anyone interested can enroll , and you get 3 CSU/UC transferable units! This will be offered after school on Wednesdays, cover HIS topics at the college level and incorporate large parts of the fields of medicine from a great teacher. See fliers posted around the school and talk to Mrs. Wiser in Room 306 if you have questions. There will be a BCC registration on Wednesday, May 31st at lunch, but you must sign up, so see/email Mrs. Wiser ASAP. There are only 25 spots
Clubs and Teams
  1. Good luck to Tim Bernal, Emet Wofford, Riley Lee, Herman Wu, Alexis Ballman, Riley Harmon, Darren Leung, and Nick Buoncristiani. They will attempt to qualify for the State track and field championships on Friday and Saturday at UC Berkeley.
  2. Now is the time to make an appointment to update your Medical Clearance forms in order to participate on an AHS sports team during the 2017-18 school year. Medical Clearance forms must be dated AFTER July 1st (June 1st for football ONLY). Medical Clearance Forms can be downloaded and printed at
