Block B Schedule

General
  1. Locker Cleanup: Extra garbage cans will be placed in the halls for locker cleanup. 9th – 11th graders may keep their assigned lockers for next year. Please remove all items from your lockers and leave them locked. SENIORS must empty their lockers by Thursday, June 15. You may keep your lock or leave it on the locker for reuse.
  2. Congratulations to junior Evan Mallah on winning a Best Delegate award at last month’s UC Davis Model UN Conference. Congratulations also go to seniors Ilay Raz and Alex Hempel, and to junior Mahima Silwal, for winning Outstanding Delegate awards at the Conference. Evan and Ilay also won Research Awards at the Conference, as did juniors Dakota Bodell and Ayize James; congratulations to them, and to the entire delegation, on a remarkable performance.
  3. If you haven’t yet done so already, turn in your summer school application ASAP to the Counseling Office.
  4. Worried about Finals? If you need help with any of your classes in this last homestretch, don’t forget to take advantage of free Flex Tutoring. Tutors are available first-come first-served at lunchtime on Mondays through Thursdays, under the main staircase. Tutors will be available during dead week. But there will be no tutoring during Finals.
  5. Come and support our Vocal Music Department! The 10th Annual Variety Shows are this Thursday and Friday, June 1st and 2nd, at 7 pm. We will feature solos, duets, and all of our vocal ensembles. See you there!
  6. We all stand for something, what do YOU stand for? Stop by the Venture store in the gym lobby at lunch or after school to check out this years student-made designs. Pick yours up at the Venture store today, or order online at squareup.com/store/ahsventure and REP THE CHANGE.
  7. Are you an LGBT student who wants to go to a prom that’s just for you? Come to the East Bay High School Queer Prom on June 9th! Buy tickets from Grace Patterson or online by googling “east bay queer prom” and clicking on the first result. Tickets are $15 or 2 for $25, and after May 29th, all tickets cost $25.
College and Career
  1. If you are signed up for AP Studio Art next year, please come to a brief but mandatory lunch meeting on Monday, June 5th or Tuesday, June 6th at Room 126. See Ms. Cohen if you have any questions.
  2. Hey Cougars: Are you looking for something to do this summer? You can find a job as a camp counselor or a county fair ticket seller; you can take a class on creating virtual reality games or designing drones. You might even travel abroad and make it an adventurous summer. For ideas and information, check out the bulletin board next to the Counseling Department and the Future Focus page in the Counseling section of the AHS website.

  1. Interested in trying out for the cheer team? If so, there will be a mandatory meeting for all interested cheerleaders on Monday during lunch in the Wrestling Room. Hope to see you there!
