  1. The final due date for all library books is May 18th. If you think you want a book, past this due date, please make arrangements with Ms. Oremland.
  2. Seniors: As we approach graduation, make sure you are clearing your library account. Talk to Ms. Oremland if you have concerns about clearing your account.
  3. Last chance to pre-purchase the 2017 AHS yearbook. Sales will continue through next Monday, May 1. Cost is $90. Checks can be made payable to AHS. Bring to Ms. Radford in room 206 or leave in Ms. Radford’s box in the main office. A limited number of books will be available for purchase in June. Questions? Email jradford@ausdk12.org
  4. Seniors! You may qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy, which is an award from the State of California. Stop by the Counseling Office to pick up the form and view the requirements. Forms are due to Counseling no later than today.

If you are interested- stop by the counseling office and see Ms. Durell or send her an email to get event registration information.

  2. Congratulations to Summer Vodnoy for receiving an ROP Student of Excellence Award for her outstanding photography portfolio in the Advanced Photography course here at Albany. Summer was chosen out of hundreds of nominees from schools in Contra Costa County to receive this award. Congratulations Summer!
  3. Congratulations to the Albany High Mountain Bike Team! They raced their 4th race of the season at Granite Bay on a difficult and fabulously muddy course coming in with a second place team finish. All riders finished the race strong and four racers earned medals!

  • Biology Club would like to congratulate the following students for their 2nd place win at the Bioengineering Competition 2 weeks ago (sponsored by Cal Bioengineering Honor Society), Wendy Liu (10th grade), Jerry Min, Omar Ibrahim, Caleb Williams, Trevor Ryan ( are all 9th graders) won with a project “Utilizing Snails to Biodegrade PET Plastics by Cultivating Bacteria Inside Their Digestive Tract.” This is Albany’s first win in this competition in which several Bay Area schools attend. Recognition also goes out to the members of Team A and Team B for creative entries. If you want to know more about the Cal Bioengineering Competition, come to Biology Club in Room 306 Tuesday’s at lunch.
