Basketball Coaches Celebrated for Incredible Contributions

posted Feb 27, 2017, 7:15 PM by Ezequiel Lopez

Daniel Picetti and Bruce Pruiett have been pillars of the boys basketball program over the last five years, and the entire Cougar community thanks them and wishes them much success as they move on to new challenges.  Both Daniel and Bruce will be furthering their educations after helping lead the Cougars to 100 wins, four North Coast Section playoff berths, three TCAL championships, and two selections to the CIF state championships in their five years.

“Daniel and Bruce are not just great basketball coaches, they have been incredible forces in the lives our students off the basketball court,” said Boys Varsity Coach Bill Treseler.  “Under their tutelage, our kids have displayed impressive growth and maturity.  They are going to be missed big-time, and we are incredibly grateful for their exceptional dedication.”

Daniel Picetti, who led the 2016-17 JV basketball team to an amazing 21-5 record in their first year of TCAL Rock play, will enter a Master’s degree program in Speech Pathology next fall.  Bruce Pruiett, who improved Cougar athletes in all sports in his role as Strength and Conditioning director, will be entering a graduate program in athletic training.
