Congratulations to Mateo Rodriguez, Elizabeth Ding, and Vincent Johnson, who were named finalists for the California Language Teachers Association & Council on International Educational Exchange "Student of the Year Awards." Mateo Rodriguez was named runner-up as the 2018 CLTA-CIEE "Student of the Year," receiving a $2500 award in addition to his CIEE Global Navigator scholarship to help him study abroad this summer in Palma de Mallorca.
Do you remember only a few years ago when there was little music in the elementary school day? The Albany Music Fund is a small group of parents who made a huge difference in bringing music back to all our schools. We support our music program and we could use your help! Our next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 20 at 9:30am in the Albany High School Choir room (in the arts annex building). We promise to be done by 11AM! Come join us and ask how you can help.

College and Career

Attention Seniors: Looking for free money for college? The Berkeley Kiwanis Scholarship application is now available in the Counseling Office. Don’t miss this opportunity! Scholarship money ranges from $500 to $12,000 each. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, February 21st.
Next weekend the East Bay Regional Park District is holding it's 4th Annual Youth Job Fair. Anyone with an interested in working in the great outdoors, with children, around aquatics, and ensuring public safety should attend. Lunch will be provided for free. For more information visit EBparks.org.
Schedule change requests forms are available starting Friday January 19th in the main office. Please fill out the form and return to the counseling office on the following dates.
11th and 12th Tuesday 1/23 12:30pm to 1:30pm
9th and 10th grade Wednesday 1/.24 12:30 to 1:30pm.
Please note all classes are year long and do not allow mid-year entry. Exceptions for Service and courses needed to meet graduation requirements or college eligible seniors.
Final deadline to apply for Global Navigator Scholarships to study abroad this summer is February 15! Check out the bulletin board by the main office and visit Profe in Room 213 for more information.

Clubs and Teams

After school today in front of the art building, the Art Therapy Club will be selling finals care packages.
Softball conditioning schedule is every Tuesday and Wednesday in the weight training room with Ben from 6-7pm until the season starts in early February.
